Photo Study Of Some Feeder Birds At Peace Valley Park, Bucks County, PA, November 17th, 2010
During
the past week, I have been able to photograph some "feeder birds"
at the Peace Valley Park Bird Blind in Bucks County. Alas, there were no rarities
among them.
So, just in case some folks might be
disappointed seeing so many "usual" birds, I've added two very special
"feeder birds", the male Allen's Hummingbird from Lititz
(Lancaster
County) and the female Rufous Hummingbird that was at Fountain Hill (Lehigh).
However, to this old picture-taker, all these birds, rare or not, are beautiful.

Nuthatch
Pine
Siskin
Red-breasted
Nuthatch
White-crowned
Sparrow
Also, you may not be aware, but the Peace Valley Park
Nature Center has been conducting a major research program during the past two
years. They have been studying
the effectiveness
of "squirrel-proof" bird feeders. Preliminary results have shown
that
the two feeders seen below are by far the very best:
