Photo Study Of Brown-headed Nuthatches And Some Other Birds In Delaware, June 10th, 2010

The Brown-headed Nuthatch (Sitta pusilla) has expanded its range northward from south-eastern United States up the coast to Delaware. The Brown-headed Nuthatch is breeding in Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, DE and we were fortunate enough to see 10 to 12 different birds feeding in the Pine Trees. We also saw juvenile Piping Plovers on the beach in the protected area at Cape Henlopen Point.
