Study Of Some Birds At Heislerville WMA And E.B. Forsythe NWR (Brigantine) April
23rd, 2010
We
were able to get to Cape May, Heislerville WMA and E.B.Forsythe NWR yesterday.
The second pond at Heislerville held 158 Snowy Egrets, 150 Glossy Ibis, 35 Great
Egrets and one Tri-colored Heron as well as many Gulls. The numbers of Snowies
and Glossy Ibis were quite a pleasant surprise, however, from a photographer's
standpoint it was a complete disaster. We were shooting directly into the sun.
Still the Heislerville Black-crowned Heron Roost gave us distant but reasonable
shots.
Cape May State Park gave us views of their newly arrived Purple Martins and we were able to get some decent photos of Snowies and Forster's Terns at Brig.
