Mike Colman, my enigmatic friend for the past 30 years, is an endangered species. The Eastern Swallow-tailed, the Monarch, the Red-spotted Purple, the Silver-spotted Skipper and the American Lady Butterfly images were captured on the Buddleas in Rosemarie's garden. They are sort of like Mike (exceptionally strong fliers, yet fragile, and, of course, likewise endangered.)

                             Mike

                            My friend is dying Day by Day,
                            Just Why he drinks, I cannot say;
                            By Demon Rum, he’s led astray,
                            Refusing Help from Double A.

                            The Cause is moot, some inner Strife,
                            His Pain’s so great; the Booze too rife;
                            He’ll lose his Job; he’s hurt his Wife;
                            Before he’s done, he’ll lose his Life!
