Photo Study Of Some New Jersey Birds, September 16th, 2011

The radar reports predicted a huge number of migrants coming into New Jersey yesterday. Therefore the birders flocked to Cape May and Ed
Norman and I joined about fifty of them at Higbee Beach. We were not disappointed with either the numbers of birds or the variety but trying to
photograph those tiny warblers and their allies, all of whom have attention deficit disorder, flitting through the leafy trees and never sitting still
for more than five seconds resulted in my seeing 21 bird species and only being able to photograph two! Here's one of them:

Philadelphia Vireo

Species seen at Higbee Beach yesterday:

American Kestrel

After leaving Higbee we headed north going towards Brig and the Tuckerton Marsh. We stopped at the Avalon Sea Wall and walked out on the
beach and were finally able to photograph some of the more sedentary shorebirds.
