In comparing dogs to children, dogs do have some very nice characteristics. Specifically, 1) you don't have to put them through college, 2) they generally don't run off and marry someone you do not like, 3) you also don't have to pay for their weddings, 4) they never call you collect for money, 5) your insurance rates do not go up when they start driving, and 6) dogs, as opposed to children, always greet you when you come home. Bohemian novelist and short-story writer Franz Kafka once stated, "All knowledge, the totality of all questions and all answers, is contained in the dog." There is no one who has looked into the soulful eyes of a dog and has opened their hearts to one, who doesn't know the truth to that statement!

                    To the Herd
                              Alfie, Smokey, Bucky, Jesse, Rachel, Sarah, Hank, Will, Indy, Piper, Gia, Teddie, Bär and Foxy!

                    They guard; they hunt; they sit and stay;
                    With Ball or Stick, in Water play;
                    These loyal Friends, will ne’er betray,
                    E’er by our Sides, till old and gray;
                    They’re true, indeed, in ev’ry Way.

                    They’ve caught the Scent; they’re on the Track;
                    Adoring Eyes, with Tails aback,
                    Oh Choc’late, Yellow, ebon Black,
                    An ever-loving Puppy Pack;
                    Who couldn’t use a Lab Attack?
