Study of Sparrows

There were a number of different sparrows today at Peace Valley Park, e.g. American Tree, White-crowned, Fox, White-throated, Song and Swamp. A Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow (the western species) was seen earlier this year in March. A Gambel's was seen again in November and I was able to photograph one today at the Sailor's Point feeders (could it possibly be the same bird?)

I have included photos of a bunch of other sparrows taken during the past year or so. Also, please note that there are some images of a few species seen rarely in our area in addition to the Gambel's White-crowned, e.g., Lark Sparrow, Harris's Sparrow, LeConte's Sparrow, Henslow's and the Clay-colored Sparrow. The dates and locations seen are indicated under the thumbnails.
